In the northern and eastern part of Nepal lies a large part of the Himalayan mountains including Mount Everest which is the highest point on earth with a summit of 8848 meters. Nepal furthermore features seven of the ten highest mountains on earth. The Everest base camp is located at 5400 meters above sea level. It is a primitive camp site at the foot of the Khumbu icefall. Although you can not see Mount Everest from the base camp many trekkers consider this place a highlight of their trip. From Kala Pattar you get a far better view of Mount Everest, the Khumbu icefall, and the surrounding mountain giants. If You Like Share On Facebook
